This is probably my best work to date. I managed to incorporate decent coloring and shading, and I even managed to bring in a bit of texture. While I do use black lines to separate the color blocks, they do not overpower the image.
The "Happy New Year" banner was created using Adobe Illustrator CS 3D filters, while the streamers were done using traditional gradients.
